Structuring AI deployment across an industrial group
An industrial manufacturer present on four continents uses CraftOS to centralize its AI uses, govern models and access, and connect AI to its internal systems. A common base, on which business agents are then deployed function by function.
The challenge
AI had already entered the company, but through the back door: personal accounts, tools chosen team by team, no visibility on what was shared or what it cost. For a multi-site industrial organisation, this dispersion poses three problems at the same time: technical and commercial data circulate without a framework, uses are not capitalized from one site to another, and expenditure escapes control. The question was not to authorize or prohibit, but to regain control.
The solution
A single interface for all models, instead of individual subscriptions. The teams change tools without changing their habits, and the company finally knows what is happening.
Which models are authorized, for which teams, with what level of reasoning. A local orchestrator classifies each request and applies the policy before sending.
The tools already in place are connected as strictly necessary, role by role, on standard connectors rather than through tailor-made developments.
The base is common, activation is progressive. Each function deploys its agents when it is ready, without a new integration project.
Consumption is tracked by model, by user and by department. The invoice ceases to be an end-of-month discovery.
An initial limited scope, then extension to the group scale. The architecture is designed from the start for all employees.
Where we are
The first perimeter is currently being deployed. The logic adopted is the one that we defend everywhere else: we establish the framework before opening up the uses, we measure before constraining, and we extend function by function rather than announcing a global transformation. The foundation laid at Smardt is the same as that described on our product page, starting with the orchestrator who decides what has the right to be released.
